Smitten Kitten look
April 10
Nice chill morning. Breakfast at 8, then 2 hours to pack Sherpa load and our own backpacks for high camp. Also get everything else in duffels for EBC
My head cold is breaking up! A lot of snot and phlegm, but headed in the right direction. Others are sniffling as well. Actually not sure really a cold, but could just be from the amount of dust and extremely dry conditions right now. It is common. SSOOOO, Ram, our LBC cook put together a Khumbu valley special of hot water in a bowl with Tiger Balm extract. You put your head over the steam with a towel over to seal in. The essential oils help clear you out. However, Ram made a Sherpa strength batch that almost took my face off. I could see through time! Definitely cleared my sinuses, as well as my short term memory and stripped my sunscreen off. Whoooo!
We had some time to chill, last minute charging of devices, one last nice lunch, and headed up the rocky terrain to Lobuche High Camp, same route we climbed yesterday
Definitely a change in temp and wind. We quickly dived into our tents and set up. Our tents are literally in hard rock. Good thing we each have 2 pads packed. Because of temps, there is going to be a lot of tent time here at 17,000 ft
