Well, still have have cold and now stomach aching. Like I’m starving, but I just ate. Kept me up all night, but gotta keep moving! Hey, this is part of what our bodies go through working hard, getting used to new environment, diet and conditions. The goal is to get everyone through it by EBC, and be ready to rock n roll!
After a steep hike out of Pheriche, we passed through the beautiful and somber memorials of those climbers who have lost their lives during Everest summit, both Sherpa and international climber. We took some time to pay respect, say some prayers and ask for guidance from those who have lost their lives doing what they love. “Go to sleep forever in the Everest.
45 minutes later, we reached Lobuche Low Camp and settled into our tents. Our Lobuche bags were in a huge pile waiting for us. Base camp has an Impressive large mess dome, specialty of CTSS. Rom and Gelbo had a late lunch ready for us! The food WAS AMAZING!!! After a week of the same selection at tea houses, this was indeed a big hit! Omg, salad/greens! Hopefully this will get my gut back on track
Camp was really windy and we layered up at 15,800 ft. After lunch and cat nap, the guides had set up an ascender practice course. We ran through group movement with ascenders up and repel down, as well as protocol on passing people on the mountain.
Guess what was next? … EATING! You got it! Seriously… one of the reasons I love this shit is because I get to eat all day, anything I want! What a trade off!!
After dinner, casey gave briefing for next day and then off to an early bed. The warmest place was definitely going to be in my sleeping bag.
My stomach just HURT, hoping will be able to sleep and not have to get up too much in the freezing night.

Sam is totally Smitten Kitten: as we have gotten to know each other, we here about family and loved ones back home. Sam has found his soul mate and every conversation comes back to her. That man is smitten kitten about his lady and super proud to say it! She sounds absolutely amazing and it’s adorable! Yeah for love!
